With school out for the summer, there is no better way to spend your holiday than with a family trip to a local amusement park! Read on for a list of the top 5 amusement parks that will cater to the entire family, from toddlers to teenagers - including Ferris Wheels, Carousels, and coveted roller coasters!
#1 LegoLandLocated in Carlsbad, California, is the childhood dream, a complete land made out of Legos! Lego lovers will be astonished at the Lego architecture found throughout the entire parks. Not to mention, there are more than fifty rides constructed from Legos, expect roller coasters to junior Volvo driving schools - there is sure to be something to please the whole family. A highlight of the park is its Miniland USA which is a replica of the United States seven regions starting in the Las Vegas Strip and continuing to the tallest skyscrapers in New York. It took more than twenty million Lego bricks to build the replica.
#2 Cedar PointLocated in Sandusky, Ohio, is the amazing Cedar Point Amusement Park. Nicknamed the king of roller coasters, it is no wonder there are seventeen jaw dropping, mind blowing, loop de loop rides located on the park’s grounds. Tweens and teens alike will be happy to get lost for hours at the Cedar Point Amusement Park. If you are traveling with little ones, do not fear! There are smaller rides that top out at 6mph for the younger generation, such as the 19ft tall Jr. Gemini Coaster! The smaller rides known how to mix just enough excitement with just enough safety. Kiddy Kingdom, Planet Snoopy, and Camp Snoopy are all get places within the park to take your younger kiddos for hours of fun. Guest who are under 48 inches tall will receive a discount on their tickets.
#3 Sesame PlaceLocated in Langhorne, Pennsylvania is the kid friendly, Sesame Place. This amusement park is solely dedicated to the younger generations. You may even find spot some of your favorite Sesame Street characters walking around the park. At Sesame Place you and your little ones can experience Sesame Street come to life with colorful parades, exciting rides, and even get a little wet on a waterslide. We recommended park attendees to get in line early for the Elmo’s World production where the popular little red monster will come out to interact live with the kids!
#4 Knoebels Amusement ResortLocated in Elysburg, Pennsylvania, is the historical Knoebels Amusement Resort that has been open since the early 1900s. In the olden days guests would pay a small fee to come inside and feed horses! However, after a few renovations the park now hosts a variety of amusement such as roller coasters, a Ferris wheel, and many other kid friendly rides. The park is based off a pay-per-ride policy which allows all park attendees to customize their own trip! You only have to spend money on what you truly want to ride! Ride rates vary from seventy five cent up to three dollars. There is a ‘ride all day long’ option available for purchase as well.
#5 Paramount King’s IslandLocated in Cincinnati, Ohio is the infamous King’s Island! At King’s Island kids and adults alike are welcome to let loose and have some fun on any of the several available rides, such as the Dodgem bumper cars or dizzy spinning Scrambler! Roller coaster lovers are sure to meet their match at the Diamondback 215 foot steel coaster! While younger kids will find themselves entertained on Planet Snoopy. Or even take the entire family for a wet ride down the rugged Whitewater Canyon river! Whatever your preference, Paramount King’s Island will have you covered for hours of summer long fun!
